Beauty and the Beast
Written by Andy Smith
A Beauty and the Beast panto script is the perfect way to bring this timeless fairytale to the stage with comedy, magic, and plenty of audience participation. At the heart of the story is Belle, a kind and courageous young woman who falls in love with Prince Ferdinand—before he is cruelly transformed into a beast by the jealous and vengeful fairy Kalivalo (Ka-Lee-Var-Low). Determined to win the Prince for herself, Kalivalo teams up with the vain and self-absorbed Gustave to try and keep Belle and the Beast apart. Luckily, Belle isn’t alone—her silly but loyal friend Brie and his larger-than-life mother, the hilarious Dame Mrs Bouffant Pamplemousse, are always on hand to raise laughs and lend their support. Filled with slapstick humour, over-the-top villains, and a heartwarming love story, this panto script captures the magic of Beauty and the Beast while adding all the fun, comedy, and sparkle that make pantomime a family favourite.
