Wolf: Err… Nothing. Now all I need to do is disguise myself as Granny then the trap is set. (Wolf puts on the nightie and sleeping cap and checks himself out in the mirror). Oh yes, let’s be honest, I make it all work, don’t I? Now I’ll just tuck myself in here (Climbs into bed). Ooo, this bed is rock hard. (Shouts to Granny). How on earth did you get five stars on Tripadvisor? This is like a plank of wood. Wait a sec, is that my air fryer. Never mind. Now I’m all set and all I must do is wait.
We hear a clock ticking sound and time passing style music through the following sequence. Blackout. Lights up. The wolf is still in bed just patiently looking around. Blackout. Lights up. The wolf is reading one of Granny’s books. Blackout. Lights up. The wolf has fallen asleep with the book on his face and is snoring loudly. The doorbell rings. The wolf jolts awake.
Red: Granny? It’s me, Red Riding Hood. I’m back from the Three Little Pigs’ house. Are you in?
Wolf: (To the audience) Show time! How odd that she uses her full name when saying who she is to her own granny (Imitating Granny’s voice) Why yes dearie. The door is open so come on in.
Red enters, hangs her coat and basket and busies herself around the room tidying bits and pieces.
Red: It was lovely to meet the Three Little Pigs. They really did enjoy the sweets. We also met the wolf again, but I managed to scare him away by putting on a really loud voice like a monster. That wolf is such a wimp.
Wolf: I wouldn’t be too sure.
Red: Are you feeling okay Granny? You sound a little… different.
Red walks round to the side of the bed.
Wolf: I’m okay dearie, just a little bit of wolf flu…I mean man flu…I mean THE flu.
Red: Just before the Prince’s banquet? Typical! Here, let me take your temperature.
Red leans in close to the wolf.
Red: Oh Granny, what big eyes you have.
Wolf: Oh, well you know what they say, all my other senses are down so my eyes are compensating. All the better to see you with.
Red: Your ears!
Wolf: Oh? What about them dearie?
Red: They’re massive!
Wolf: Not exactly rolling with compliments today, are you?
Red: Seriously, what big ears you have.
Wolf: All the better to hear your stupid, annoying, inane, grating, overly chirpy voice with….my dear.
Red: And your teeth.
Wolf: Ah yes, my teeth, these pearly whites.
Red: Yes, what big teeth you have. You look like you have been to Turkey!
